What's the Cost?

The cost to your home is a very simple equation, cost = quality + quantity. While that’s simple to say, it’s far more complex in the real world. Let’s start with quantity. The size of the home is the most obvious factor contributing to the cost, but I can break that out a little further. The home's footprint and shape are the biggest factors to the homes cost, it’s always cheaper to build up, not out. And the further away from a perfect square for the main floor plan, the more cost you’ll be adding. Bump-outs, setbacks, angles and the like all add to the cost. The quality of the home is a tricky question to answer. We’ve all seen homes built at $75 per square foot up to $200 per square foot. My general opinion is the quality should match the size. What that means from a practical standpoint is we’ll help guide and direct you to appropriate allowances for each area of the home. Ultimately, it’s the client that decides.
